![]() July 17 (Swadeeka, greetings from Thailand) ![]() The second we stepped out of the airport, it hit us; the heat, humidity, mugginess of Bangkok awaits. We arranged for a lovely private tour guided by our humble guide Tao, and our excellent driver, Yut. We spent much of the humid steamy day getting lost in ruins of ancient stupas, temples, palaces, and forgotten kingdoms. After several hours of exploring a variety of sites that housed magical ancient Buddhas we visited the King’s Palace and WOW! It was amazingly ornate and detailed. As we walked amongst the magnificent King’s Palace it was sobering to think that the magically broken ruins we had just explored had once been as richly decorated as the King’s Palace. Both were beautiful but in different ways.
