Benefits to School Community PDF Print E-mail


Team Nepal will act as ambassadors between our school and the schools visited. We hope to engage in ongoing collaboration between the schools and hope to promote relationship building between all school members. With the aid of modern technology, our sense of global and local boundaries is constantly being redefined. Whereas ten years ago, teachers collaborated primarily with teachers within a school or school district, teachers today have instant access to a network of experts around the world. It is as simple as a few clicks on a computer.

Team Nepal hopes to set up ongoing live chat sessions with teachers from both countries. We hope that physical barriers can be overcome using technology and that this type of ongoing collaboration can be a model for other groups to attempt. A project website will be created and will include a discussion forum for ongoing discussion topics. A blog of Team Nepal's journey will be hosted on the site for the world to observe our experiences. We even hope to include students in future online discussions! The possibilities are endless and we hope to dwell in them.

By taking the time to consciously address and actively embrace cultural exploration and growth, and enthusiastically sharing our experience we hope to become catalysts for change in our school community. We hope to model the importance of celebrating diversity and valuing similarities and differences. We strive to inspire others to embrace and celebrate their own cultures and to actively explore and celebrate other cultures as well. We feel through this spirit of open acceptance we can help further develop and enhance a culture of acceptance and belonging in our school community. This is a value that our staff and the team members personally hold dear. We feel that each individual matters and together we can make a difference in the world.
